Rainy Day Vibes /// maternity

You wouldn't believe how many clients want to cancel our session because they think it will rain. Apart from Kauai always showing at least 30% chance of rain (hence the center of the island's title: wettest place on earth), most of the time IF it does rain it, it stops in 5mins.  I always tell clients to wait it out. If it is absolutely pouring, then we either 1) find a new location  2) reschedule or  3) roll with the rain and shoot anyway.  Rescheduling gets tough because unless the client lives here, they are flying back sooner than I have availability. Finding a new location is touchy because the subjects often have a magical connection to a certain place. Driving south is normally the answer to stormy skies but then you are burning daylight and Kapa'a traffic an hour before sunset will make you pull out your hair. No one feels pretty and photo ready after that.
Sometimes when the skies look taunting and you push on, wait it out or even shoot in the rain you get the most dramatic results. You can't have a rainbow without a little rain. Hannah and Angelo were super "go with the flow" never even mentioned cancelling, trusted their photographer and here's what we got.
